Prestigious double accolade for BHP Billiton & Cargill in alliance with essDOCS, Westpac & RBS

BHP Billiton and Cargill, in alliance with essDOCS, Westpac and RBS, have received two prestigious trade finance awards for their use of essDOCS electronic bill of lading and ePresentation solutions on iron ore shipments from Australia to China.
London, United Kingdom, 01 April 2014: The Corporate Treasurer has awarded the BHP Billiton-Cargill transaction “Best Trade Finance Strategy” at the Best Treasury & Finance Strategies in Asia-Pacific Awards 2013, while The Asset magazine has named it the “Best Regional Trade Finance Solution” at the Triple A Treasury, Trade & Risk Management Awards 2014.
As part of the selection process, The Asset considered the views of prominent treasury professionals in the region, including The Asset’s Board of Editors who collectively have several decades’ worth of evaluating industry awards in Asia.
According to Corporate Treasurer editor Daniel Flatt, their winners were judged on the level of innovation relative to the situation at hand, taking into account groundbreaking strategies detailing a level of commitment and ingenuity that genuinely improves the working lives of those involved and the company’s operations.

The announcement of the Corporate Treasurer winners will be followed by an awards ceremony and panel discussion to be hosted by the trade magazine in Singapore on April 2.
