Preem adopts CargoDocs for Tankers at its two refineries
Swedish Oil Company signs up to use essDOCS electronic bills of lading solution at its two refineries in a five year agreement
VALLETA, MALTA, 11 June 2012. essDOCS (essDOCS), the leading shipping eDocs provider, is pleased to announce that Preem has signed up to use CargoDocs for Tankers, its electronic bill of lading solution for the liquid bulk market, for a minimum 5 year term at Preem’s Brofjorden and Gothenburg Refineries.
Preem completed a trial of CargoDocs earlier this year with 90 Preem employees trained to use the solution on 17 shipments between the two refineries and four discharge depots within Sweden: Helsingborg, Norrkoping, Gavle and Karlshamn.
“CargoDocs represents the future of shipping documentation and Preem is excited to be a leader in the transition to eDocs in Europe” said Mikael Bjorklund, Business Development at Supply & Refining. “We look forward to working with essDOCS to become paperless in our trade routes.”
The 5 year production agreement will cover all of Preem’s approximately annual 2,500 movements (intra-Sweden, import and export movements).
“We are delighted that Preem has taken a leading role in the European energy industry’s evolution to eDocs”, said Alexander Goulandris, essDOCS CEO. “The level of commitment shown by Preem in CargoDocs, is illustrative of the industry’s confidence that paper bills of lading are on their way to being consigned to the history books.”
