essDOCS Newsletter Q3 2014

The growing digitisation of trade emerged as an overarching theme throughout the 3rd quarter, particularly within the context of combining electronic bills of lading with trade finance instruments such as ePresentation and Bank Payment Obligation. Beyond simply being a catch-phrase, digitisation is now seeping into the 'mainstream' of global trade processes, as we move away from theory-based discussions and begin to truly focus and evaluate practical aspects, i.e. nurturing a digital ecosystem which will eliminate real-world implementation issues and enable better cooperation between all stakeholders - key drivers towards achieving a truly paperless future within the industry.
