Leading Malaysian Roll-on-Roll-off (RoRo) shipping operator, GIGA Shipping, recently reached 100% paperless across all its Ocean and House Bills of Lading within just 100 days of going-live.

The company has adopted the ICE CargoDocs Local Law eBL solution to digitize the entirety of its approximately 10,000+ Ocean and House Bills of Lading processed annually, relating to intra-Malaysia automotive shipments.

GIGA Shipping collaborated closely with ICE Digital Trade to onboard all required ecosystem parties within just over 3 months from going-live and sending a Notice of Transition to all involved stakeholders.

Additionally, the company integrated their Transportation Management System (TMS) with ICE CargoDocs. The secure API connection enables seamless data flow from GIGA’s TMS into ICE CargoDocs for automatic creation of eBL drafts, which are then signed, issued and managed electronically via the ICE CargoDocs solution.

By fully transitioning to eBLs and instantaneous eDocs transfer, the company has eradicated the delays associated with cumbersome and time-consuming paper-based processes – which involve printing, manually signing and physical couriering documents between the relevant stakeholders.  Moreover, the adoption of eBLs has significantly enhanced automation within GIGA Shipping's business processes, while also providing greater transaction visibility through a centralized digital solution and eliminating the risk of cargo mis-delivery and paper-based fraud.
