Robindale is now live with ICE CargoDocs electronic Bills of Lading (eB/Ls), having recently completed its first eB/L transaction for exports.

The Company’s go-live shipment covered the sale of coking coal in bulk, shipped from Baltimore, USA, to a major European steel producer.

The Robindale group of companies – whose operations and services include waste coal reclamation, metallurgical coal mining, domestic and international coal marketing, logistics and bulk material handling, and more – signed up for ICE CargoDocs in July 2023, as part of a wider digital transformation initiative extending to its global export supply chain processes.

eDocs accelerate and simplify export documentation processes, eliminating delays caused by printing/couriering of documents, paper-related fraud risks, and legal risks arising from the use of LOIs (as opposed to original eB/Ls). By implementing a paperless process, Robindale is seeking to improve the speed, security, transparency, and visibility of its export shipment processes through a centralized, auditable, digital solution.

A representative from the company said: “Robindale focuses on creating value for customers through dependable, innovative, and effective solutions. Adopting eDocs is one of the key steps that we have made to achieve our goals.”
