essDOCS customer Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) recently completed the very first fruit juice transaction using CargoDocs electronic Bills of Lading (eB/Ls), marking a key milestone in the expansion of the essDOCS solution to the juice commodity segment. The trade involved a cargo of concentrated and not-from-concentrate orange juice, exported from Santos, Brazil, to Ghent, Belgium.

LDC went live with CargoDocs eB/Ls in early 2016, initially using the solution for a co-loaded shipment of bulk maize from Brazil to Taiwan. The recent juice transaction marks LDC’s first live CargoDocs shipment that was not co-loaded.

As a leading merchant and processor of agricultural goods globally, LDC plans to continue expanding its use of electronic Bills of Lading into new commodity segments and trade lanes throughout the year, focusing especially on bulk agri-shipments from the Americas to Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
