Our Users Association, the DDG, recently held its first Americas-based Agri Workshop in Miami.

The workshop was attended by delegates from the major global Agri Houses, in addition to representatives from the North American Export Grain Association (NAEGA) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA).

Moderated by essDOCS Head of Agri, Cynthia Worley, and essDOCS VP Americas, Marisa Martin, the event featured an in-depth briefing on CargoDocs uptake in the Agri market, tracking progress and developments specific to relevant CargoDocs-enabled stakeholders such as Agri traders, exporters, banks, trade associations and government authorities.

The workshop also provided a unique opportunity for delegates to discuss recent and ongoing e-initiatives that are poised to have a major impact on eDocs use in Agri – namely, the potential of ePhytosanitary Certificates (ePhytos) to entirely streamline cross-border Agri trade facilitation, and the game-changing capabilities of innovative trade finance instruments such as Bank Payment Obligation (BPO) for Agri shippers and banks.

The DDG holds several regional events throughout the year, each focusing on paperless trade uptake and use in key market sectors, including the Agri, Metals & Minerals, Chemicals and Energy markets. Upcoming events include:

  • DDG APAC Energy Workshop, Singapore – slated for November 2015
  • DDG 2nd European Agri Workshop, Geneva, Switzerland – slated for December 2015

About the essDOCS Users & Stakeholders Association (DDG)
