DDG Workgroup Meeting held in Beijing

Our Users Association – The Databridge Development Group (DDG) – recently held its first ever Beijing Workgroup meeting, aimed at supporting and accelerating the adoption of eDocs and eTrade Finance across the Metals, Agri and Banking sectors in China.
The event took place at the Novotel Beijing Peace, located in the city centre at Wangfujing, and was attended by over 100 delegates hailing from the major Mining, Metals and Agri companies, as well as leading regional Banking Groups.

The meeting was led by our VP Business Development APAC, Stanley Young, who kicked off with a briefing on CargoDocs uptake alongside essDOCS CEO, Alexander Goulandris, covering recent metrics on paperless trade expansion & growth in key target geographies and commodity markets.

The briefing was followed by a breakdown of upcoming essDOCS projects and solutions, also addressing ongoing challenges and the DDG’s strategy in overcoming them. In turn, attendees were taken through a detailed demonstration of CargoDocs functionality, covering practical aspects of CargoDocs use for paperless trade and trade finance.

The Workgroup meeting closed with a Q&A session addressing various key points surrounding paperless trade – from eDocs acceptance by local Customs Authorities and ports, to details on system security, how CargoDocs works in practice and how swiftly key parties such as new vessels can be onboarded.
The DDG holds several events throughout the year, with more workshops added on a regular basis at numerous locations across the globe. The latest meeting in Beijing coincides with the opening of our first mainland China office in Shanghai.
