Modernizing Trade & Shipping Documents
Antiquated instruments in shipping such as sails and sextants have long since been replaced by faster more reliable tools. After all, in today's fast moving world of international trade every minute that a vessel, cargo or funds sits idle is money lost. But there is at least one aspect of trade today that would still be familiar to even ancient mariners - paper based shipping documentation.
ESS was established in 2003 to provide eDocs solutions enabling international trade participants to better manage and transact documents required for operations, legal, compliance and customs purposes, such as Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
ESS currently offers the following services:
CargoDocs™ Services - enable Users to manage documentation, such as Bills of Lading, Certificates of Origin, Cargo Manifest, Certificates of Quality, etc., required to ship and trade waterborne cargos electronically (live since 2010). eSDS™ Services - enable Users to meet global regulations requiring active distributions of SDS under legislation such as the Global Harmonized System, REACH, OSHA, etc., (live since 2009). To learn more about SDS requirements and eSDS™ click here.
