eSDS™ Services simplify laborious paper Safety Data Sheet (SDS) processes. Our web-based eSDS™ Services enable Users to manage, send, track and store SDSs as required by GHS, REACH, EU and similar legislative and regulatory frameworks throughout the world, including Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Russia and the USA.

Case Study: REACH SDS Requirements

REACH is a new European Union Regulation on chemicals and their safe use (EC 1907/2006). REACH deals with the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemical substances. Reach Regulations place greater responsibility on industry to manage the risks posed by hazardous chemical substances and to provide relevant safety information on these substances, by:

  • Active distribution of Safety Datasheets (SDSs);
  • Sending SDSs in the official language of the country of the receiver;
  • Sending personalized SDSs with a customised header for the organisation concerned;
  • Storing SDSs and related information for 10 years; and
  • Resending updated SDSs to all recipients of any changed safety data sheet within the past 12 months.

Companies involved in the import, manufacture, trade and/or formulation of chemical substances in the European Economic Area area are now required to comply with REACH Regulations and actively send Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) to trade partners. It is clearly in an organisation’s interest also to track SDSs and ensure receipt by all relevant parties.
