Shared Library
eSDS users who either do not have their own SDS library or who wish to supplement their library with additional content have the option to use a Shared SDS Library created, translated and maintained by SGS Belgium BV.
The costs of the Shared Library are split across all library users. Costs are covered by a borrowing fee which is paid into a shared library fund. Any user can contribute to the library. The fund is also used to compensate SGS to administer and maintain the library resource.
The shared library offers Users access to compliant safety data sheets at a fraction of the cost of building and maintaining their own in-house library resource.
The library was started in July 2009 and continues to grow month on month. Substances covered include:
- Crude Oil
- Gases
- Refined Products
- Blends/Mixtures
- Chemicals
- Metals
The eSDS Steering Committee, part of the DDG, manages the library and agrees the fees, administration requirements and any significant investment decisions.
