JetDocs™ Overview
JetDocs is a simple, web-based service allowing participants in the aviation turbine fuel, Jet A-1, trades quickly and easily to comply with the new requirements under Defence Standard 91-91 Issue 7 relating to content and traceability of batch origin and quality.
Defence Standard 91-91 Issue 7
The latest MOD standard for Jet A-1 was published on 18 February 2011, and came into force three months later, on 18 May 2011. For a copy of the standard please click here.
Issue 7 brought in a new concept of 'Traceability' (see Annex J), which the Standard defined as:
“Traceability for aviation turbine fuel means, being able to track distinct batches of fuel through the distribution system back to the original point of manufacture.”
“Aviation fuel quality assurance is based on certification at point of manufacture and procedures to verify that the quality of the aviation fuel concerned has not changed and remains within the specification limits during distribution and delivery to aircraft. Proper documentation is an essential part of this process. The key documents are: Refinery Certificate of Quality [RCQ]; Certificate of Analysis [COA)]; and Release Certificate.”
Ultimately, 91-91 i7 requires that the airline end user is provided with a set of documents starting with the JAG 1 refinery’s RCQ and including each intermediate COA, Release Certificates and Re-Testing Certificates relevant to that batch.
JetDocs provides easy compliance with 91-91 i7 traceability requirements. Features of the service include:
- 100% web-based solution
- Relevant certificates, such as RCQs or COAs can be emailed directly into your JetDocs inbox, or uploaded into JetDocs by your team or nominated third party, i.e., surveyor
- JetDocs can be associated with relevant blending/storage facilities, bulk transportation, pipelines, etc
- Batch based, but ability to merge, split and otherwise handle eDocs to deal with all day-to-day scenarios relating to handling Jet Fuel via tanks, pipes, etc
- Secure distribution of JetDocs through the trade chain to JetDocs and non-JetDocs users – eliminates issues of managing traceability by email and risk of email bouncebacks due to size of attachments
- All JetDocs are stored and available online for 12 years
