Services available to Carriers are:
CargoDocs™
CargoDocs for Tankers provides a simple, web-based solution enabling users to replace paper documentation relating to shipping cargoes on Tankers with original electronic documents. Specifically, the service enables the electronic creation, signing, issuing and filing of bills of lading and supporting documents.
Features
The CargoDocs module allows Carriers to:
- Review and sign a full set of documents required for tanker shipments – ESS recreates the terminal's Bill of Lading template, and provides a standardized version of peripheral documents such as: Cargo Manifest, Timesheet, Certificate of Origin, Certificate of Quality, Certificate of Quantity, combined documents such as CQQ or CQQOCM, etc.
- Upload and electronically sign draft documents (this tends to be used by surveyors and laboratories, but can be used by Carriers)
- Sign draft documents electronically
- Manage requests to amend eDocs
- Receive produced eB/Ls and accomplish them
- 12 year secure online storage for all eDocs
Benefits
CargoDocs provides many significant benefits including:
- Faster vessel turnaround at the discharge port with discharge against a Bill of Lading not a Letter of Indemnity
- Significant improvement in the Bill of Lading amendment process, with visibility of all active shipping documents across the fleet
- Labour and Time Savings – these include the savings associated with reduced data re-entry, eliminated physical movements, printing, copying and couriering of documents
- Standardised best practice for document handling with automatic offsite archiving
Legal
CargoDocs users are required to sign the ESS-Databridge Services & Users Agreement (DSUA) prior to using live eDocs for the first time. The DSUA is a multi-partite agreement which binds all CargoDocs users to each other and to ESS.
If you are a DDG member, log into the DDG Extranet to find a list of current DSUA signatories.
API-Interface
System integration is optional for customers who wish to enjoy the benefits of straight-through-processing of all key trade data with documentation, operations, scheduling, accounting and trading systems. ESS can manage B2B messages in a variety of common formats (EDI X12, XML, CSV) and protocols (AS2, HTTPS, FTP). All messaging transaction details are stored for archiving purposes.
